jellyfish

jellyfish is a 4 oscillator synth with multiple modulation methods between the oscillators and of their various parameters which guarantees plenty of movement in the sound. This is great for evolving pads, wobbly bass, vibrant leads or just plain strangeness. Using addition, subtraction, phase difference, ring modulation or phase distortion, the oscillators can modulate each other to get a wide variety of sounds. 2 tempo-sync LFOs and an ADSR envelope can all modulate this inter-osc modulation, as well as pitch, filter cut-off and each other. A pair of resonant filters and a tempo-sync delay complete the deal

features
· 4 oscillators arranged in pairs, with each pair able to modulate each other
· 9 inter-osc modulation methods, including phase distortion, phase difference and ring modulation

· LFOs can modulate the inter-osc modulation, pitch and filter cutoff for each pair
· LFO2 can modulate LFO1
· 1 ADSR envelope can modulate as per the LFOs and modulate both LFOs
· Tempo-sync delay, with damping and mix level

demo VST and audio
Download demo VSTs [3.9 MB] - This zip contains demo versions of both jellyfish and metamorph to allow you to fully evaluate them before purchasing. They are both fully functioning except you will get 1 second of silence every 10 seconds and a nag screen on start up. Manuals are also included

You can also download audio demos to get a feel of what jellyfish can do, these are all straight presets, with no effects or processing

Note for users of FL Studio 8.0
There is a known compatibility issue of jellyfish with FL8. The plugin will load, but will not generate audio and will crash FL on deletion/replacement. This issue is only for FL8, there is no issue for FL7 or any other host. This is due to a bug in the FL VST wrapper, confirmed by Imageline (the makers of FL Studio).

Imageline have now released an update to FL8 which fixes the bug and allows the synth to work correctly
Click here to go to the Imageline forum thread where you can download the FL8 update
The update is 1.7MB and you unzip the contents into your FL8 directory. You need to be logged in to the forum to be able to download the update

Note for users with Multicore processors
jellyfish was developed using SynthEdit software version 1.016
There is a known bug with this version of SynthEdit that affects some multicore processors, although it isn't widely documented. Some users with multicore processors and certain hosts have reported issues when trying to load multiple instances of the same SynthEdit plugin. This bug is not reproducable on all systems or hosts, and may not occur on your system. If you have a multicore processor you are strongly urged to fully test the demo version of jellyfish on your system before purchasing.
This bug does NOT affect single core processors or single instances of a plugin
This bug only seems to apply in hosts with multi-core support
It is intended that SynthEdit 1.1 will fix this bug, but there is no planned release date. There is no guarantee that jellyfish can be updated on release of SE 1.1, as the compatibility between the two versions is not certain.
If you do have issues with multiple instances, there is a potential workaround. By making several copies of jellyfish.dll (eg jellyfish_1.dll, jellyfish_2.dll, etc) in your VST directory, your host will see each one as a different plugin and be able load one instance of each
